You open my newsletter each week. For you, it may only be a double-click and a brief scan, but I feel apricity kiss my face. As that open-rate climbs (or just holds steady at slightly above-average industry standards), a golden shaft of light breaks the clouds and touches my keyboard.
My keyboard sits warm and content like a cat on my desk, purring as I pet her each morning. Occasionally, she scratches me with infected claws—writer's block, typos, and the like. She is a mercurial creature, shy and demure some days, a real showoff on others. But the more I pet her, the better we both do, especially with the weather being what it is.
So thank you, dear reader. You are the apricity that shines down, slanted through the south-facing window of my room. You force our play dates every Friday morning. When I see your comments, likes, and $6 subscriptions (thanks mom), my proclivity towards procrastination is matched only by the guilt of letting you down.
Have a purr-fect weekend.
Kyle
This is a Friday newsletter. Each week I pick a new word I'm trying to learn, then use it in a short story. Suggest a word in the comments. See ya next week wordos!
